Structural Bonding Fasteners for Composite and Thin-Wall Panels

Structural Bonding Fasteners for Composite and Thin-Wall Panels

A structural bonding fastener with a large perforated bonding base for adhesive attachment. It carries high loads on composite, sandwich and thin-wall panels without through-drilling — preserving the substrate, its seal and its appearance.

Product Specifications

Product Description

Where a thin panel cannot carry a tapped thread and drilling through would destroy sealing or appearance, this bonding fastener offers a third way: a wide, perforated base plate is bonded to the substrate with structural adhesive, and the perforations let the adhesive key mechanically into the base for a joint stronger than the adhesive film itself.

The bonded stud or nut then provides a standard metallic thread for subsequent assembly. Load is spread over the whole base area instead of a single point, so thin skins, honeycomb cores and foams see dramatically lower local stress. Installation needs no heat, no riveting access to the rear side, and no finishing work.

Key Features & Benefits

  • No Through-Drilling: Substrate, sealing layer and appearance remain intact.
  • Perforated Keying Base: Adhesive locks through the perforations for peel- and shear-resistant joints.
  • Load Distribution: Wide base spreads load across thin skins, honeycomb and foam cores.
  • Standard Metallic Thread: Bonded stud or nut provides a normal thread for downstream assembly.
  • Fast, Cold Installation: No heat, no rear access, no rework — ready for automation.

Application Industries

Used on composite panels and enclosures, battery pack covers, rail and vehicle interior panels, drone and low-altitude aircraft structures, HVAC sandwich panels and any thin-sheet or non-weldable substrate requiring a strong threaded attachment point.
