Brass Inserts
Brass Inserts create strong machine threads inside plastic components. Produced by multi-station precision turning from high-quality brass, they offer excellent electrical conductivity and good corrosion resistance, which makes them as useful for grounding and conductive connections as for purely mechanical joints.
The outside of the insert carries an anti-slip knurled pattern. Whether the insert is heat-staked, press-fitted or moulded in place, the knurl bites into the surrounding plastic and resists rotation and pull-out, so the installed thread can accept real tightening torque without spinning in the boss.
Thread tolerances are held tightly, which means standard screws engage smoothly and hold their preload over repeated assembly cycles. In miniature electronics, where a stripped plastic boss means a scrapped housing, that combination of material quality, knurled retention and accurate threading is what protects yield.
