Bonding Stud

Bonding Stud

This adhesive-bonded stud combines an integrated precision pin shaft with a large-area base structure. The base surface is specially roughened or chemically treated to ensure superior bonding strength with industrial adhesives, creating positioning and support points without drilling the substrate.

Product Description

The Bonding Stud creates fixed points on surfaces that cannot be drilled. A precision pin shaft rises from a large-area base; the underside of that base is roughened or chemically treated so structural adhesives bond to it reliably rather than merely sitting on the surface.

Once bonded, the stud provides a rigid positioning pin or support point for panels, brackets and assemblies. Because no hole is drilled, the mechanical integrity of the component is preserved — no stress concentration is introduced and no sealed or finished surface is interrupted.

The large base spreads load across a wide bonded area, which is what allows the stud to carry meaningful pull-out and shear loads on thin, brittle or high-strength substrates, including carbon fiber composites and finished components where drilling is simply not an option.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Precision Pin Shaft: Provides accurate positioning and support in the bonded assembly.
  • Large-Area Base: Spreads load across a wide bonded footprint for higher pull-out strength.
  • Treated Bonding Surface: Roughened or chemically treated base ensures strong adhesive adhesion.
  • Non-Destructive Fixing: No drilling into the substrate, preserving structural integrity.
  • Composite Ready: Works on carbon fiber and other materials unsuitable for mechanical fastening.

Application Industries

Widely used in carbon fiber composite processing, precision optical instruments, spacecraft liners and high-end sporting equipment, this stud suits composite surfaces where mechanical fastening is unfeasible.

It is particularly appropriate where weight reduction and even stress distribution are strict requirements, such as instrument mounting points on composite panels and lightweight structural assemblies.
