Type 308 Self-Tapping Threaded Inserts (Three-Hole Design)
Type 308 self-tapping threaded inserts install directly into a plain drilled or molded hole and cut a precision internal thread as they go. The insert body carries three integrated cutting holes that act as chip windows and cutting edges, removing material cleanly as the insert is driven home and forming a tight mechanical bond with the parent part. Because no pre-tapped hole is needed, assembly is faster and the thread is formed in the full strength of the insert rather than in the soft substrate.
Made from Grade 308 stainless steel, the insert delivers a corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant female thread that withstands repeated assembly and disassembly without degrading. The design is well suited to injection-molded parts, die-castings, aluminum, hardwoods and composites where a durable, reusable threaded point is required, turning a weak molded boss into a serviceable metal thread.
Forming the thread in stainless steel rather than in the host material gives a reusable, corrosion-resistant point that survives many assembly cycles.
Used for efficient production and maintenance, these inserts strengthen fasteners in critical automotive components and lightweight housings, secure threads in electronics and appliance enclosures and frames, and protect precision diagnostic and control instruments. Furniture manufacturing gains high-torque, reusable connections in solid wood and engineered panels.
From automotive housings and appliances to instruments and furniture, it builds durable threads in the soft materials modern products are made from.
