This variant of the sealing self-clinching standoff is engineered around one objective: making a sealed threaded anchor that can be installed by press, at production speed, in thin sheet metal.

A precision sealant is applied to the base during manufacturing. Clinching the standoff into the panel compresses that layer, which fills the clearance between the installation hole and the fastener — the leak path that would otherwise allow water and dust to enter the enclosure.

The result is an IP68-rated barrier combined with excellent torque-out and push-out resistance. The internal thread remains stable for the life of the equipment, while the base material stays permanently sealed.
