IP68 Pre-applied Adhesive Sealing Self-Clinching Standoff
The IP68 Pre-applied Adhesive Sealing Self-Clinching Standoff does two things in one press operation: it anchors permanently into sheet metal and it seals the mounting hole. A precision sealant is pre-applied to the base of the part during production.
When the standoff is clinched into the panel, the sealant is compressed and fills the gaps around the installation hole, forming an ingress barrier rated IP68. At the same time the clinching geometry anchors the standoff with strong torque-out and push-out resistance, providing a stable internal thread for the assembly.
Because the seal is produced by the clinching operation, no gasket is required and assembly remains a dry process. That removes a component, a placement step and a potential leak path, and it makes sealed panel assembly practical on automated lines.
Extensively used in 5G communication radomes, new-energy vehicle electronic control boxes and outdoor security surveillance systems, these standoffs suit sheet metal structures in avionics equipment, precision medical devices and smart power distribution cabinets.
They address the demand for sealed, automated, gasket-free assembly on thin sheet metal, particularly where internal electronics must be protected from weather and washdown.
