SMT Spring Lock Fasteners (Surface-Mount Retention Hardware)
The SMT spring lock is designed for the reflow process: it survives peak soldering temperatures, sits accurately on paste-printed pads, and is supplied in tape-and-reel packaging for automated pick-and-place. After reflow, the spring clip stands ready on the board as a permanent retention point.
Matching covers and modules simply press in — the spring fingers deflect and snap back behind the part, holding it with a defined retention force. Removal is equally tool-free. This replaces screw-and-standoff stacks with a single surface-mount operation, cutting assembly steps and eliminating dropped-screw defects.
Applied to router and set-top-box covers, EMI shield retention, battery and module holders in consumer electronics, industrial gateways and automotive infotainment boards.
