SMT nut
The SMT Nut (Stud) is a threaded anchor that is soldered onto the board during reflow. Once in place, it gives the assembly a solid threaded port for attaching brackets, shields, terminal lugs or cable clamps, so the fastening interface becomes part of the board itself rather than a separate add-on component.
Because the stud is installed in the same reflow pass that solders the other components, it needs no through-hole, no riveting and no manual operation. The joint is repeatable and the mechanical connection point is created with the same process capability the rest of the board enjoys, which keeps assembly quality consistent across high volumes.
The result is a compact, production-friendly way to combine mechanical fixation with electrical connection: hardware can be attached, and where the design calls for it, grounding or power can pass through the same stud.
