The SMT Nut (Stud) is a threaded anchor that is soldered onto the board during reflow. Once in place, it gives the assembly a solid threaded port for attaching brackets, shields, terminal lugs or cable clamps, so the fastening interface becomes part of the board itself rather than a separate add-on component.

Because the stud is installed in the same reflow pass that solders the other components, it needs no through-hole, no riveting and no manual operation.
