A solid keyed locking thread insert (Keensert-type) that converts soft or damaged tapped holes into a durable steel thread. Four locking keys are driven down after installation, positively locking the insert against rotation — no adhesive, no friction fit.

Product Description

The keyed insert is a precision-machined stainless steel bushing with internal and external threads. After the insert is screwed into an oversize tapped hole, the four keys are staked downward into a recess cut in the parent material, mechanically locking the insert in place. The lock does not rely on friction or thread adhesive, so it is unaffected by temperature, oil or vibration history.

Compared with wire thread inserts, the solid-wall design adds wall thickness and strength, making it the preferred repair and reinforcement method for stripped holes in aluminum castings, magnesium housings and other soft alloys — and a standard choice in aerospace-style applications where positive retention is specified.
