The High-Strength Stainless Steel Wire Thread Insert is a helical coil formed from diamond-shaped stainless steel wire. Screwed into a prepared hole, the coil becomes a permanent, resilient internal thread that stands proud of the parent material in strength and wear resistance.
The coil behaves like a spring. When a bolt is tightened into it, the insert deflects slightly and then presses back against the bolt thread, distributing load over a longer engagement length.
