Sealed Bolts
A sealed bolt is a standard fastener with a precision-machined groove under the head that carries a resilient elastomeric O-ring. As the bolt is tightened, the groove confines the O-ring and compresses it evenly against the mating surface, forming a continuous, leak-proof barrier around the thread without letting the seal extrude or pinch. This gives the joint two functions at once: a secure mechanical clamp and a fluid or gas seal.
Because the seal is built into the part, there is no need for anaerobic thread sealants, liquid gaskets or PTFE tape, and the seal performance is consistent from one joint to the next. Sealed bolts are a clean, fast alternative for any interface that must stay airtight or pressure-tight in service, removing a manual sealing step from the assembly line.
