Sealed Self-Clinching Standoffs (Waterproof Series)
Sealed self-clinching standoffs are panel hardware that both space and fasten while keeping moisture out. A standard clinching operation presses the standoff’s serrated shank into a pre-punched hole in thin sheet metal, where it cold-flows to form a permanent, high-strength mechanical bond. At the same time, an integral elastomeric or formed seal seated against the panel face closes the gap completely, achieving an IP68-rated waterproof and dustproof barrier.
Unlike a conventional standoff plus a separate gasket, this is a single part that delivers the threaded support and the environmental seal together, with no secondary operations. The result is a leak-free, vacuum- or pressure-tight standoff that shields sensitive electronics behind the panel from water, dust and cleaning fluids throughout the product life — without adding parts or process steps.
Combining the standoff and the seal in a single clinched part removes a gasket and a process step while raising the sealed joint’s long-term reliability.
Developed for sectors where environmental integrity is non-negotiable, these standoffs protect 5G base stations, antennas and outdoor enclosures in telecommunications, EV battery packs, sensors and ADAS modules in automotive electronics, and outdoor control panels and ruggedized sensors in industrial automation. Medical instruments requiring sterilization or liquid resistance also benefit from the sealed, serviceable connection.
From 5G enclosures and EV battery packs to medical and outdoor automation gear, it seals and spaces in one permanent, serviceable part.
