Type 69 Pre-applied Anaerobic Sealant Rivet Nut
Type 69 seals and locks at the same time. Before delivery, an anaerobic sealant is applied to the rivet nut; when the part is installed, the adhesive is activated and fills the thread and the gap between nut and panel as the body deforms. The joint is therefore watertight and mechanically locked by the same single operation.
The adhesive cures in roughly 90 seconds without heat or extra tooling, which keeps installation cycles short while producing a barrier against fluid ingress that remains effective under thermal cycling. Tested performance includes more than 500 hours of salt spray exposure (ASTM B117) and 30G vibration (ISO 16750-3), conditions under which standard sealants crack and lose their grip.
Because the sealant is pre-applied and process-controlled, the quality of the seal does not depend on the operator. Every installed nut carries the same amount of adhesive, so sealing performance is repeatable from the first unit to the last — an important property in safety-related assemblies.
Deployed in zero-tolerance leakage environments where sealing failure means a safety recall, Type 69 serves automotive electronics such as EV battery pack housings and ADAS sensors exposed to −40℃ to 125℃ cycling, outdoor 5G infrastructure including mmWave antenna mounts, and industrial power control cabinets such as solar inverters that must stay sealed in desert dust and salt fog.
Railway signalling systems also use it for trackside enclosures that must survive continuous vibration, with sealing verified against the electromagnetic and mechanical requirements of EN 50121-3-2.
