Product Description

The Integrated Flange Bolt with Pre-applied Adhesive combines a load-spreading head with a locking system that is built into the fastener. The flange spreads clamping force over a wider area, which lowers bearing pressure and limits the settlement that soft materials otherwise suffer under a bolt head.

The thread is coated with micro-encapsulated adhesive. As the bolt is driven in, the capsules are crushed and the adhesive is released, curing in place to lock the thread chemically. That is what keeps the joint tight under high-frequency vibration, where plain bolts would gradually relax.

The same layer contributes to sealing and corrosion protection at the thread interface, so the joint resists both loosening and environmental attack. Because the adhesive travels on the part, assembly needs no dispensing equipment, no cure station and no separate locking step.
