Ultra-Thin Self-Clinching Nut
The Ultra-Thin Self-Clinching Nut creates a dependable internal thread in sheet metal with very little thickness. Installation is a clinching operation: the nut is pressed into the prepared hole and the panel material flows into the undercut at the base, producing a permanent mechanical joint rather than a welded, riveted or screwed one.
The distinguishing feature is the anti-rotation geometry at the base. It resists the torque applied when a screw is tightened into the nut, so the insert cannot spin in the panel — the failure that ruins thin-sheet threaded joints. Combined with the form-fit anchorage, this gives high torque-out resistance as well as strong pull-out performance.
After installation the nut sits flush with the sheet, with no protrusion to lift gaskets, interfere with mating parts or spoil the exterior finish. Structural fastening strength and the compact space requirements of precision equipment are balanced in the same component.
