PCB Solder Standoffs / Nut Columns
PCB Solder Standoffs — also supplied as nut columns — create a threaded fixing point directly on a printed circuit board. They are machined from free-cutting steel or copper alloy and tin-plated so that solder wets the part fully and forms sound, complete joints during assembly.
A precision pilot at the base locates the standoff in the board hole. That pilot function is what makes the part compatible with both SMT placement and automated press-fit equipment: position is defined mechanically by the component rather than by the operator, so the standoff sits square and perpendicular to the board every time.
Once installed, the standoff provides a stable internal thread for fixing components, stacking modules or attaching shielding covers. The result is consistent, repeatable board-level assembly on high-density layouts where hand-fitted hardware would slow the line and introduce variation.
