Global supply chains mix fastener standards freely — often without checking whether they are freely mixable. Most are compatible; some are not.
Hex cap screws ISO 4014/4017, DIN 931/933 and GB/T 5782/5783 share identical thread geometry (metric ISO thread), head widths and strength-class systems for most sizes. Substitution between them for general machinery is routine and safe. ANSI inch hardware, however, runs UNC/UNF threads and different head dimensions — an M10 bolt will not replace a 3/8"-16, ever.
Substitute within the same thread system only after comparing the full standard, not the dimension table alone. Topprecision manufactures to GB, DIN, ISO and ANSI references and maps customer drawings across standards as a free pre-quote service — catching incompatibilities before they reach a purchase order.
