On July 20–21, 2026, the "2026 10th Automotive Fastening & Connection Development Forum," hosted by the Automotive Anti-Corrosion & Aging Sub-Committee of the China Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE-China), was held in Qingdao. The forum focused on industry hotspots such as new energy vehicle lightweighting and anti-corrosion connections for dissimilar materials, bringing together OEMs, three-electric system suppliers, fastener manufacturers, and other enterprises to explore pathways for industrial upgrading. ZCJ Precision Hardware (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. participated with its Xiangyang plant's lightweight fastening solutions, and Mr. Xu Chaokui, General Manager of the Xiangyang plant (ZCJ Metal Technology (Xiangyang) Co., Ltd.), delivered a keynote speech.

At the opening of the forum, Mr. Huang Ping, Secretary-General of the sub-committee, delivered a welcome address. He stated that against the dual backdrop of the "dual carbon" strategy and the tightening of the new GB 36980.1 energy consumption limit policy, vehicle lightweighting has become a critical pathway for new energy vehicles to reduce energy consumption and extend range. Magnesium alloys are now being widely adopted in core three-electric components such as battery trays and e-drive housings. However, the combination of magnesium substrates with traditional steel fasteners presents inherent compatibility issues: the significant potential difference between dissimilar metals readily induces galvanic corrosion, and the substantial difference in thermal expansion coefficients between steel and magnesium leads to persistent preload loss under alternating high and low temperatures. The industry urgently needs new high-strength, lightweight fastening solutions compatible with magnesium alloy substrates.

General Manager Xu Chaokui delivered a presentation titled "Lightweight Connection Solutions for New Energy Vehicles – ZT68 600MPa Cold-Headed High-Strength Aluminum Alloy Bolts." Currently, the industry standard for aluminum bolts reaches only 420MPa, which falls short of the high-load requirements for three-electric systems and chassis applications. Using a self-developed modified 7-series aluminum alloy, ZCJ has produced the ZT68 high-strength aluminum alloy bolt, achieving a tensile strength of up to 630MPa – a 50% improvement over conventional products – while maintaining over 8% elongation toughness. Comprehensive testing has verified that the product exhibits no head fracture in 6° wedge tests, no rust after 60 days of anodized salt spray exposure, stable strength under prolonged use at 150°C, extremely low galvanic corrosion risk when paired with magnesium alloys, and controllable friction coefficients suitable for automated assembly. It is perfectly suited for wet-region cold-hot alternating scenarios including magnesium alloy battery trays, e-drive housings, and lightweight chassis systems.

During the exhibition, ZCJ's booth provided detailed presentations on the ZT68 600MPa high-strength aluminum alloy bolt, attracting numerous OEM and Tier 1 R&D and procurement teams for exchanges and in-depth discussions on magnesium alloy fastener anti-corrosion solutions and volume customization.
